Augenstein, Seth. “Child Porn Search Warrant Yields Body Stuffed in Tote.” Forensic Magazine, 15 Feb. 2018, www.forensicmag.com/news/2018/02/child-porn-search-warrant-yields-body-stuffed-tote.

“Child Porn Search Warrant Yields Body Stuffed in Tote.” discusses an ongoing computer crime investigation that investigators  linked to a nationwide child porn sting. Augenstein relayed how the Colorado police served a search warrant on an apartment in Trinidad, Colo., on Tuesday and found  corpse stuffed inside a plastic storage tote. The suspect, Cameron Johnson-McCann, is being charged with a single count of internet sexual exploitation of a child. The actual death investigation however, is being continued. According to the article, “ The remains have only been described as those of a man—but their condition has prevented identification so far. An autopsy is pending.” They also claimed that the person had been dead for a while.
This article was very interesting to read. It was interesting to see how a computer crime investigation could lead to a break in a child pornography case. It is very relevant to our forensic class as we are studying ways in which we could use forensic evidence to solve cases such as this one. Child pornography is one of the biggest problems of our era and this case highlights it.

While the article was very interesting to read, there were some points that the author didn’t include that made it a little hard to follow. I wish the author could’ve expanded on the relationship between the computer case and the child pornography case. While it is clear the dead body is the common link, it was hard to identify what led them to the body or to connect the body to the cases in question.

Zach Zucker chose the same article that I did for my last event called“Las Vegas Gunman's Brain Exam Only Deepens Mystery of His Actions” from the New York Times. The article was about what experts found after they completed an autopsy on the body of Stephen Paddock. Now recently, With all of the 21 school shootings that have occurred in 2018 many are wondering what goes into the head of a mass shooter. So when conducting the autopsy it would have ramifications for all other mass shootings. Zach chose to explain what the autopsy had concluded at the end of the first paragraph which I thought was very good use of writing, it led the reader in suspense. Knowing what happened and reading the same article that Zack picked I was interested in seeing how Zack would break down the article. Zach also broke down the strengths and weaknesses of the article very well in his critique paragraph.

To give him two comments for improvement, The first being is when Zack was explaining the scientific findings from the autopsy he did not really explain what was concluded from it. another thing that I would suggest is bringing it back to our forensics class and making it full circle. There's a reason that we choose Forensic current events so we can tie it into our own class.

With all of that being said, I was very impressed with Zach's review and i was very interesting to see how he would explain the same article I read. Already knowing about the autopsy I knew the outcome but reading Zack’s opinion on it was something new that I learned.

Hannah Eddib did a phenomenal job reviewing the article titled “Child Porn Search Warrant Yields Body Stuffed in Tote” by Seth Augenstein. The article is about how police in Colorado issued a search warrant for Cameron Johnson-McCann’s house after seeing his search history, which consisted of child pornography, and found a dead body stuffed in a plastic tote bag, THe death investigation is still underway, but he is facing charges of child pornography.
I really liked how hannah paced this article. She also did a good job drawing the reader in, despite the topic being so gruesome. One last thing HAnnah did very well was add quotations, it makes the article easier to read. She did a very good job.
There are a few things she could fix, though. For instance, the review is quite short and would benefit from some more depth. Also, She could do a better job explaining the article. overall , it was a very well written review by Hannah Eddib.

From Hana’s review of “Child Porn Search Warrant Yields Body Stuffed in Tote.”, I felt that I was able to learn many new things that she explained. Hana incited many great details in her review. For example, Hana did a good job explaining the background of the story and kept the timeline throughout the review very clear. This made it easy for readers to understand her review. Secondly, Hana added quotes from the article which gives the reader another incite about what others thought about the case. For example, Hana used the quote “The remains have only been described as those of a man—but their condition has prevented identification so far. An autopsy is pending.” to help set up her own opinion. Also, I thought Hana did a good job on adding her own thoughts and opinions into the review rather than just straight facts.

Although, Hana could add a few more ideas to his review to make it perfect. First, I think that Hana should add more about the forensics part of the crime. Along with this, there are parts where Hana can make his point more clear and concise through the review.

Overall, I think Hana did a good job summarizing the article and adding her own thoughts and opinions. I found this review interesting and informative because I have never heard of this case and I am happy Hana brought up this article for her review.

Hana wrote a review on the article, “Child Porn Search Warrant Yields Body Stuffed in Tote”. I thought that Hana did a very good job writing this. One thing that I enjoyed about the review was how hana included not only a critique of the article, but also why she thinks it is interesting to read. She also chose a very interesting topic to read about, which makes people want to read it. Lastly, I thought Hana gave a pretty good background about the topic.

One thing I wish Hana included more of is quotes. This brings in more facts directly from the article and this can help the reader understand the topic/article more. I also wish Hana included more about how this relates to Forensic Science and specifically which branch of it.

Overall I really enjoyed Hana’s review. It was very well written and very relevant to society. It is good to know what is going on in the world and this topic definitely helps that.
